Okay so we have discussed all the main factors of Windows 10, BUT for those of you who edit and need to use editing programs on a day to day basis, the big question is how will Windows 10 work with your selected program?

Ableton Live

Taken from the Ableton Live website this is a statement made 1 month ago for regarding compatibility with Windows 10.

“We are definitely making progress in getting Live fully compatible with Windows 10, we aim to ensure full compatibility until the release date end of July.

However, in software, hardware and the combination of those two, there are many things which can go wrong when a new operating system launches, and we generally believe it is a smart thing to wait a few weeks before upgrading.”

Steinberg Cubase

“As you might know, Windows 10 should be out and about on July 29, 2015. We’ll soon begin with a series of compatibility tests for all Steinberg software and hardware products with a close-to-final build of Windows 10, and this will allow us to provide you with compatibility information right in time before the official release. We recommend that you do not upgrade to Windows 10 until final testing results are available as it might turn out that some Steinberg products need to be updated to ensure full compatibility.

We’ll keep you posted.”

Presonus Studio One

“We have noticed an increasing number of support requests with regards to the upcoming release of Windows 10 and its compatibility with PreSonus products. PreSonus has been and continues to keep a close eye on the Windows 10 development during its Beta Phase.

As a reminder, Windows 10 is still in Beta.

-This means that Microsoft is continuing to update the latest builds of their upcoming Operating System, as it is in its final days of development.

Until the final build is completed by Microsoft, and released publicly at the end of July… Windows 10 compatibility cannot be effectively tested. As soon as the OEM version of Microsoft Windows 10 is launched, PreSonus will be swiftly performing final operability testing. Once complete, there will be an official compatibility statement published to inform our PreSonus Family of our findings.

So far things look very good!

We appreciate your patience as we work swiftly to provide such crucial information to our user-base ; many whom are looking to be early adopters of this upcoming version of Windows”
